Cherokee Rock Village Camping

Over the weekend we went to Cherokee Rock Village for camping and bouldering. The weather was mostly cold and windy, but still it did not hamper our camping enjoyment. We had a great turn out with 7 scouts and 3 adults. We spent much of the day hiking and playing on the rocks. We had a fun adventure looking around a cave and rock chasm. Overall we had a great time hanging out and playing around. I encourage all scouts to try to make as many trips as possible in the future. Camping and socializing is one of the most important and most remembered parts of scouting.

Scout History

Be sure to check out all of the new photos added in the history section. I still have several hundred to add,but there are still a few thousand to look at. Also, I have removed the recent pics blog and combined them and extras to the Scout History Blog. I've removed a few other blog tabs due to lack of use. If you wish to have a Blog Tab added, let me know.

Bake Sale

The bake sale went better than expected. Each boy that participated made a nice profit for the hours worked. Everyone who baked did a great job, it was hard not to eat everything before it could be sold. The troop would like to thank all the parents who participated and also: Josh, Hunter, Kade, Anthony, Tyler E, Myles, & Cole. A special thanks to Kade's friend for helping out and Jeremy for showing up to have his picture taken with the group. Be sure to check out the photos.:)

Camping at Cheha

November 13-15, the troop went to High Falls in the Talledega National Forrest. It was a great trip and the weather couldn't have been better. We all camped under tarps or in backpacking tents. Josh H. did a great job on his tarp, it was very professional. The other scouts also did a great job, though Anthony could have listened to Kade's directions a little more. Their tarp ended up looking like a cross between a teepee and a burrito. We had great food and even better conversations. We hiked to the top of High Falls and also drove to Lake Chinabee and did the 1 1/2 mile hike to Devil Falls. it was a beautiful trip and those involved, Josh, Anthony, Kade, Cole, Joseph & his dad, Kenny, Rudy, & Mick, had a good time.
